How can you possibly make such a generalised statement when there are how many billion people playing games right now?
Based on over 20 years of gaming on an almost daily basis.
I don't need a study for everything to back up my claims, if most gamers I encountered are left-wing and of most threads and comments on these forums are by left-wingers.
But if you disagree, YOU can provide me some " evidence " that proves the opposite.

And who has more time? The ones with jobs and families and responsibilities? Or the unemployed, those who refuse to work, the young and people on some kind of dependency?
It's the same reason why message boards are similarly skewed. Whichever side has more time to waste (and also to some extent, a bigger mouth) will have a bigger perceived presence. Even if the raw numbers aren't that far apart.
Interesting and very logical observation.
I think for me realising this more often, would spare me a lot of time.
Oh...right.
So...YOU base YOUR evidence on your own subjective experiences and then dismiss everything else? Riiiight. Very smart move and shows great critical thinking skills.
I've gamed since I was tall enough to stand up in arcades in the 80s so I have over 40 years and I wouldn't say they are either left or right wing. They just are what they are! I certainly dont have the supposition that it makes me an expert on any gamer's political ideology.
For example.
If I played nothing but sports games then would it be fair to assume all gamer's are sports fans?
If I played nothing but military strategy games would it be far to assume all gamer's are military supporters?
This isn't how it works.
If you are playing the types of games that are slightly more left leaning or moderated by those who are left leaning then yes, it will appear that way to you but it does not mean that is the reality. It just means you are in a bubble. If I was to use the old CoD lobbies as an example, then I'd assume everyone was about 12 years old, racist and on their way to do terrible things to my Mum!
And since you made the claim. not me, the burden of proof is on you. Subjective experience is not proof. It's just subjective experience.
