Would human population survive this scenario?
Technology has made us dependent, weak and lazy. We order food from home without even getting up, instead of hunting. We chat using internet and phones, instead of riding on a horseback to deliver a message. We microwave ready food instead of cooking. We call the repair company instead of learning to fix it ourselves. We have no knowledge of medicine and just trust the big pharmacists companies. We can't make a fire or light without matches or electricity.

So, would it be possible for us to live after all of our tech is destroyed?

"human population = america" ahh thread
Humanity would absolutely survive.
But many individuals would surely not survive. All of our tech being destroyed would entail that stuff like refrigeration and logistical chains are destroyed as well.
Oh my goodness!

Really? You dont even know how to start a fire without matches? I learnt that as a kid.

I'm a 5 min walk from the wonderful British countryside! Yes...yes we will absolutely survive.

Honestly...living and staying in the city....it's bad for you! Get out and go camping. Learn a few basic skills.

You'll be fine!

Do you really think people in big cities just die? They are plenty and it just needs one man to organize a few people and go hunting ^^ And they will not just take your food.

In such a case slavery and cannibalism is back in no time. Then its like a viking horde comes pludering, r4ping and pillaging.

Only people will survive who organzise themselves into groups.

Well at least the first thing what dies is probably feminism ^^

that's back to ground zero for humans, only maybe with much prejudice against each other, because some people learned to speak loudly on Internet.

This was assigned reading in Highschool, coincidentally when MySpace was all the rage.

A Sound of Thunder and To Build a Fire aint got crap.

Harrison Bergeron is cool, if only because of the insane unicorn.

Where did I say people in big cities will die? They will but I never said it.

And let them come! I know it's a joke but the English country side isn't a joke! As they say in Hot Fuzz, everyone and their Mum is packing round here!

And if push comes to shove, plenty of places to go to ground!

If you know, you know. If you don't, you don't.

All I was saying is yes..the human race will survive. Plenty of people have the skills and knowhow.

yes we can

because fire is not so hard, we have so many metal, after you find silex and you are fine to light fire

even if emp fry our electricity, infrastructure still stay

for medecine if you mean old medecine pretty sure we can stillk grow weed or at worse opium, we also know hot temperature kill bacteria and high concentration alcohol to clean injury

some book about plant still exist medecine

for food, well we can still grow vegetable in park or courtyard

for water we know to boil water to clean water or mix it with alcohol, also copper cup look great for clean water

No, if the water and electricity supply stops, no one will survive in a big city. Even if you try to drink rainwater, you will soon be poisoned, and the lack of hygiene and the spread of diseases will finish the job.
Indeed, big cities are a death trap if water & electricity supply is gone
it only say technology gone, not firestorm, big earthquake, nuke

so it mean infrastructure is still intact, so run out electricity mean people still have food in can, cookie, bread, sugar

ok for water it mean be problem, but i am not so sure it is so bad, people can still dig well, build filter with coal and paper and boild their water

so water problem is more in dry area like las vegas and phoenix and maybe los angeles, but east coast has enough rain and snow to not die from thirst
Red Dead Redemption has trained me for this very scenario.
