The Decline of PC Gaming
I blame Nvidia for overcharging for video cards and developers releasing crappy PC ports.

I thought you said it was because of "DEI"? Changed your mind again?

No, that's the decline of the Western gaming industry as a whole

I'm talking about PC gaming specifically here.

I asked grok if PC gaming is in the decline. This is what it said

Player Base and Revenue Growth The number of PC gamers has been steadily increasing, with recent estimates suggesting around 1.86 billion players globally in 2024, up from 1.75 billion in 2020. Revenue-wise, PC gaming saw a significant 8.4% year-over-year increase in 2023, reaching $39.6 billion, compared to a mere 0.3% growth for console gaming at $52.4 billion.

Other than in quality of games from AAA games, how is it declining?

As long as NVIDIA can rely on A.I. it doesn't need gamers, just like when Cryto currency was hot, they didn't care about gamers then either. It is almost like corporations don't really care about any one customer base, as long as they are getting money from somewhere else. I am sure AMD will overcharge for their graphics cards as well, if they would be willing to take a short term loss in profits, they could dominate the GPU market.

In the end PC gaming is a luxury hobby, but as long as games still can run on old hardware, it should still be within reach of the average person.
i mean it wont progress that much further in ideas honestly

It's steadily growing year after year, it's definitely not in decline.

PC gaming isn't dying. It's bigger than ever. If we're talking about 2010 then maybe consoles have the advantage. But those days are over. No one is even playing on Xbox anymore.
NVIDIA graphics cards are crap for the price and barely have anything to make up for it. You'd be better off going with an AMD or Intel card nowadays if you want to go new, or just get a used card like an RX 5700 XT for dirt cheap.

PC gaming is good if you have a good GPU. If you don't have one, then you get screwed with the bad PC ports. Most people have a PS5 and a PC simply because the PC ports are badly optimized.
