It is a good thing that OP put "human" in there because a few animals would be in the running, such as Sergeant Stubby.

Seemingly, the USA does this a lot, but some animals have done some good things to help their squadron such as alerting especially in the old days.

I think it was Corporal Smokey (Yorkshire Terrier) that had to run a transmission cable through a pipe that was too small for any soldier.

And I believe cats were used by the USA in WWII for reconnaissance missions under the CATS program.

The animals are still soldiers and should be respected as such, just like a police canine is considered an officer.

you have never seen decorated service dogs/cats? i mean obviously, the animals do not really giving a ♥♥♥♥. but these animals are trained for specialised purposes and save peoples lives, and though they do not really understand the ceremonies or awards, it is nice to have them.
