What programs or games did you give up to switch to Linux?

For me, it was just CSP. I never managed to get it working on Linux. Everything else just worked or had a suitable replacement.

Sniping tool and MS Paint. The Linux versions just don't do it for me. Those two on windows were just so simple and user friendly.

On Windows, I don't have to ♥♥♥♥ around with Proton layers.
The only ones that matter are peripheral controls like G Hub and ICue.

♥♥♥♥ every company that doesn't have a Linux fronttend, or doesn't have complete on-device persistent settings. Piper works okay for Logitech mice, but SCUF and Corsair and Razar stuff is SOL.

Even Windows 11 removed Paint. Windows 10 paint was the first time paint was ever useful, so of course they abandoned it.

Paint is still on Windows 11.

The paint on Windows 11 is garbage. It is not the Windows 10 version that was actually good. Windows 11 just downgrade the OS and apps and upgraded their spyware, which is why I switched to Linux.

Nothing

*Also planning to build a PC that allows VM to use hardware acceleration.*
Never really used Windows as my main operating system for long enough that I'd use some piece of software that wasn't on GNU/Linux. GNU/Linux has been my main operating system since 2011, and so I would make sure that any software I use would run on both platforms up until I ditched the dual boot in 2021.

The only reason I kept a Windows partition around was to play games, and at a certain point Proton got good enough that every game I cared about worked flawlessly on Proton. There was no reason for me to run Windows since there was no software (including games) that I used that wouldn't run on GNU/Linux.

So the answer here would pretty much be none, because I wiped the Windows dual-boot when everything I used worked on GNU/Linux.

Losing that is a net positive if you ask me.
