Fortnite launcher gets stuck on "Waiting for game."

I know that fortnite is not on steam, but after dealing with epic games for hours upon hours and having no luck, I am turning to the gaming community to try and find some help. I have just re-installed fortnite after taking a break for about 6 months. After it installed, I pressed launch and it opened up the fortnite launcher and acted like it was going to open the game. What happened was it got through initializing, then it got stuck on "waiting for game" then proceeds to crash and not open the actual game. When I go into the epic games launcher after this happens, it says the game is "running" even though it is clearly not. Also after it crashes I cannot open any of my shortcuts, taskbar apps, or search for an app in windows search. I have to force restart my pc to get it to work again. Nothing wrong with my pc, just got it last year and have ran fortnite in the past this year. It is also not a corrupted windows files problem, as I have ran multiple repair commands that found nothing wrong with windows files. I have verified fortnite files as well as uninstalling and re-installing the game several times now and still no luck. Only thing that I can think of that I've changed since I had it last was disabled hyper-v stuff in bios along with cpu virtualization. I'm at a loss for ideas and need some help. PLEASE if anyone has had this issue before and knows a fix, don't hesitate to tell me. Thanks.

I've seen a lot of mixed information about what causes this issue. You might be better off contacting Epic Games support team rather than hoping for an answer here to be honest.

Otherwise join a Fortnite-related community on Reddit (like r/FortniteBR) as that's a better community to ask questions technical related or gameplay related to Fortnite.

This has been talked about before, and one user found a solution that involves removing Kaspersky Anti-virus from your computer (as it should be, in my opinion at least).

Since epic is to cheap to make a forum. Their loser fan base comes here to get help with competitors product. They need to go to reddit for help not steam.

Uninstalling and reinstalling usually fixes most problems. Uninstall any mods.

I've already tried doing that multiple times and still no luck. Mods will get you banned on fortnite.

I've been trying to fix this for hours over the last 3 days AND I THINK I HAVE A SOLUTION!!!

My OS: Windows 11 Home 24H2

The problem I was having:
I would launch Fortnite from either the desktop shortcut or Epic Games Launcher, Fortnite would open, say "initializing", then "waiting for game" and then crash while a Fortnite crash tab opened up. In my PC's audit logs, (filters: system, warnings) it would say "Easy Anti Cheat (EOSSys) is not supported by bypass IO.

So here is what I did:
1. Settings
2. Windows Update
3. Advanced Options
4. Recovery
5. "Fix problems using Windows Update", "Reinstall Now"

It will download and install a windows 11 repair update, and once your PC restarts (either on its own or by you after it installs and says "pending restart", your PC will restart, update, etc etc, and come back to your desktop.

I hope this helps anyone who is having this issue. I wanted to share this cause I've seen tons of people with the same issue.
