Generally speaking, up until the past half decade or so, PC gaming wasn't really a casuals type of thing... Most Steam users were either no-lifers, rejects, extreme dweebs or rich kids/adults with time to spare. Or a good mix of everything. Either way, it's not like having every other average football bro on Xbox Live with a handful of "community friendly" personalization options to pick from to make his profile "cool". PC platform philosophy has generally always followed reality. Literally.
