I'm surprised techno is still a genre in and of it's self... thought the dubstep had taken over.

*easy to find in a techno playlist i think /anticlimax already at 2:56... and the background hi-hat feels out of sync (or maybe it's just because of all the mixed "bouncy" themes- and whipped cream)

. . .
> i get it, this pink /slash magenta yt-thumbnail was trance as heck

lets continue as in the comment below with mulero..

(have to put this one ‘in’ as a ‘double’ as well - it’s so sterile..! and un-sterile at the same time)

This better not turn into a rating thread.

Good quantization is a industry secret and you can't really make good techno on purpose without it. Even if you stick to 3/4 time, which in techno's case means you may as well whip your PlaySkool instrument of choice out and play along so you can get some complexity in there.

The end result of controls on quantization and simple polyrhythmic offering tools, especially in singular packages instead of eviscerated and carefully preserved and entombed across 2-5 different workstations, is riddling most songs with anticlimax/'drops' every minute thirty. Most of which only need to last for half a second or two, but instead become a part of the melodic progression stretching on for what feels like hours upon hours of sonic eternity. If the artist leans into this heavily the track gets labelled trance or psytrance despite never actually clearing the initial bar for quality techno let alone one of its subgenres or contemporaries.

I can't tell you how much it flips me off when I'm 12 minutes into a 1/128bpm whale bellow and there's a 1/32 snare kick on the 129th mark, and it isn't there again until a 49th mark. Like, did you even orchestrate this or did you sit there for 10 minutes manually adjusting the knobs for a single note and completely ruined yourself with misplaced snares?

A single clashing melody in the upper frequencies, which most people don't even have equipment to play let alone hear, is practically unnoticable in the full-body sandpapering the average musical track of any kind subjects me to. I can't tell them apart because they're the same 5 songs rearranged to look different, what does it even matter?

Anyway I come here to find techno not to share it, so...is this Techno? It has a lot of the right elements.

let me help you. Buzz Kull sounds to me like the group Boy Harsher:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPLwPRhHw0M
Boy Harsher is considered industrial dark wave electronica.

Personally, i wouldn't consider Buzz Kull techno, but techno is really a wide open genre and it's pretty subjective. Here's an example of techno, so you can hear the difference:
