Dubstep is only a single sub-genre of EDM. Most 'Dubstep' people like is old, as does indeed sound like a bunch of random noises. That's why you have to listen to the good ♥♥♥♥ like DnB.

The only dub I ever liked was BF4 theme. And the Halo 3 never forgotten dubstep remix.

As this thread has been necro'd again, I will, once again, defend Dubstep.
Dubstep is not just noise. If you've listened to some artists like Seven Lions, Trivecta, Au5, and many more, you'll find some melodic, or liquid, dubstep in there.
