Rockstar Games completely abandoning PC?
Well not *completely* I suppose. But what's up with these developers? First they claim Red Dead Redemption is "impossible" to port to PC, which is just a blatant lie. Then apparently GTA 5 takes them a ridiculous amount of 2 YEARS (estimated) to release on PC (expected release is March 2015 now).

Wtf Rockstar? And all other developers that dish PC for consoles. It's just incredibly silly to see companies that start with PC and then in favor for consoles practically abandon it.

Frankly their whole business and lying about Red Dead Redemption really got to me, I don't think I can ever support developers like this. And their ways to "force" me to buy a console just to play their games sickens me. I will probably never buy a console. And sure some games play better with a controller and that's the exact reason I bought one for my PC!

Now that the GTA series is also dropping a turd on PC gamers I feel like just abandoning the series too. Sleeping Dogs has practically replaced it for me anyways (even though it's not a series.. yet). Heck even Saints Row (while a bit too arcade-y) is a great alternative.

Just Cause 2 is also a great alternative to GTA.

Well, some people call it "cheap games, lots of sales". Others call it "low revenue". And that's not even including the, uhm, "free" editions.

If they claimed that something "cannot be ported" -- that's a different story. "We don't want to" works just fine, and is actually the truth -- there really isn't much of a difference between PCs and consoles.

So that's obvious bullcrap, if they actually said that. And completely unnecessary, since it's THEIR decision anyway. It's not like someone has ordered them to make a port, and they had to find an excuse because they didn't want to.

Umm if you do a simple read of the GTA 5 programming code, you will see a few thousand references regarding PC setup, with higher quality graphics, features and the works. Perhaps they had issues with it or simply still working on perfecting it. I would highly suggest that they take their time and get it right, rather than Microsoft infecting and rushing them for a quick buggy release like which happened with GTA 4 on PC. However, they have at least extremely considered it to go through that much effort and I respect that. Don't give up on them so quickly. I have many corrupted innocents childhood memories due to RockStar games on PC! Keep on rocking on!

Understand that PC is at least 3x the quality of textures, much better shaders, as well as a range of different system hardware to all support. When a console is simply locked into it's known limitation and a crappy graphic card which just looks ok for TV, but the same all round. For console, you just need to optimise the game once.

Consoles buy exclusive rights to some popular titles, to force kids over to using them. I can at least see the reason. Else we would never use a console...
