What do Bronies see in mlp?
so not making this thread to troll (although it probably will end up being a troll post). I'm genuinely curious what do bronies see in my little pony, whats the deep meaning some people find that makes them consider themselves a subculture. My five year old girl cousin loves mlp and recently she and my aunt visited me for a few weeks. Suffice it to say that i watched alot of mlp but i really couldnt see any deep meaning hidden there. It was like watching spongebob as an adult you think whaddafuq this is stupid. I can understand why children like mlp. Or if you watched it as a child you watch it as an adult for nostalgia, but i just cant understand why someone would want to watch mlp as an adult if you didnt like it as a kid.

There are tons of reasons why one would watch it. I watch it because it has a better story then most other shows, well thought out funny characters, and it's very optimistic. I don't watch much tv though so that might also be contributing to it.

Why do men like to watch this stupid show MLP? dudes don't you know this makes you...?
..a flaming homosexual?
don't try and cover up your sexuality with "i watch it and im straight". ANY guy who seriously watches a show about PONIES has some sort of closet bisexuality at the very least. It's a show intended for little girls! LOL
Awww, is someone angry?

You obviously don't know what homosexuality is. Watching a show "little girls" watch isn't being gay because "little girls" aren't gay. You can watch the show and be perfectly straight. I watch the show and i'm not homosexual.
I guess you have nothing better to do with your life. I don't know much about this show but any adult male who spends hs time watching a kids show has serious issues.

There! Right there you stated your lack of knowledge about the show. that proves you don't know anything about someones sexuality by them watching the show.
Also when you said "any adult male who spends hs time watching a kids show has serious issues." is very false. There are thousands, millions! Of people(guys) who watch childrens shows. Like spongebob. A very good show. Judging someones sexuality on what they like to watch in media is an absurd acusation.
spongebob is a show appropriate for all ages, as it holds deep meaning in each episode, whereas mlp has no meaning whatsoever as Pixel Lover stated earlier
my question is though what makes mlp deserve a subculture when its just a simple show for little girls?
Same reason why other shows do such as doctor who. I have never seen that show and don't plan on it but one of my friends who watches it a lot talks about such subculture. MLP Has a subculture because people enjoy it for reasons in the show that appeal to them.

Pixel Lover said he, HE, saw no meaning in it. Other people do see meaning and peoples views are different.
I think some "bronies" aren't really into it, they just do it to belong to the brony crowd.

I mean, that kind of behavior is really common. People do things they really won't do just to obtain some form of identification.

Like, I know girls who don't like videogames but they play it anyway just so they can call themselves "nerd gamer girl".

tell me what you see in mlp. tell me the message and the meaning behind it all
What do i see in MLP? I posted why i watch that in my very first comment. I'll repeat myself.

like the pyrovision googles but in reverse.
pyro sees fire as rainbows.

bronies see mlp as some manly men wrestling eachother.
Ok thats all good and fine you can watch whatever you want for whatever reasons, but my real question is why do bronies get to be considered a subculture. By definition a subculture is "a cultural group within a larger culture, often having beliefs or interests at variance with those of the larger culture". I guess the interests make them count but really other shows made for children have fans or fandoms but theyre not considered Subcultures. Also they don't feel the need to tell every one that they watch "insert childrens show here" because theres deep meaning. I mean i'm fine with people watching what they want to but it gets annoying when people treat a show like its a religion.
