What do Bronies see in mlp?

so not making this thread to troll (although it probably will end up being a troll post). I'm genuinely curious what do bronies see in my little pony, whats the deep meaning some people find that makes them consider themselves a subculture. My five year old girl cousin loves mlp and recently she and my aunt visited me for a few weeks. Suffice it to say that i watched alot of mlp but i really couldnt see any deep meaning hidden there. It was like watching spongebob as an adult you think whaddafuq this is stupid. I can understand why children like mlp. Or if you watched it as a child you watch it as an adult for nostalgia, but i just cant understand why someone would want to watch mlp as an adult if you didnt like it as a kid.

I guess the interests make them count but really other shows made for children have fans or fandoms but theyre not considered Subcultures. Also they don't feel the need to tell every one that they watch "insert childrens show here" because theres deep meaning. It's less about watching a show, and more about trying to be a part of something.

"Hey, look at me! I'm a brony! I'm part of subculture! I exist! I matter!"

Like what Bat Girl said. A bit of bronies who are way to open about and treat it as a religion and stuff, aren't always very into the show. They hopped on a bagwagon. I don't consider the show a religion but i do still like the show. Many people who love the show but don't treat it like its a religion are more of the "true"? Bronies? I don't know. I mean, that kind of behavior is really common. People do things they really won't do just to obtain some form of identification.

Pretty much this. I'm sure a good amount of bronies actually enjoy the show... but most ones that I've seen act like they're just in it so that they can be identified as one.

Some bronies are okay, but then you see the wild side who over sexualize tiny female horses and turn them into sex objects, and I really find that disturbing.
I've watched it a little, because the characters are cute (and I can relate to Fluttershy) but I am far from obsessed. I am also a 17 year old girl but who cares.
Calling a guy a homosexual for watching a certain show is actually really really offensive to actual homosexuals. A show doesn't turn you into a homosexual, you are born a homosexual.
