When do most Americans play video game?

Here in Taiwan, western video games are not very popular. So mostly I play multiplayer games with American, since, somehow, the connection is better than anywhere else outside of Asia.

But still, I can't always find people to play with, especially on less popular games. So I wonder, at what time of day do most Americans game, on workday and holiday repectively?

Most Americans play during the saturdays.

Since you have a different timezone, you're going to need to consider that. I think if you game late at night, you should find a lot of people.

Most of the Americans will be online by around 3-10PM (15-22), but since there are four timezones (Pacific, Mountain, Central and Eastern), so between midnight and 10 AM would probably suffice if you want to play with Americans. Here's what time you could expect players from each of the timezones:

Pacific (California, Arizona, Washington State) 0-7 AM
Mountain (Southwest, Texas) 1-8 AM
Central (Chicago, Midwest): 2-9 AM
Eastern (Washington DC, New York City, Boston): 3-10 AM
*All of these times are based on the timezone Taipei resides in.

You'll probably find some Americans who play later at night or in the morning if you play later in the afternoon or evening, but for the most part unless you get up really early you'll see mostly players from the eastern half of the country.

During weekends of off-days, you'll find most players starting at 11 or noon until about the same time, 10. Just subtract a couple hours from the first times I listed and you'll have when you could be on to catch them. If all else fails, you could just check a world clock on the Internet. I used http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ to figure out the times you'd need to be on to play, so if you want to check for yourself, that's what I used.

Thank you, guys. I have a pretty clear idea now. It seems that Sunday morning is the best time for me to game. And indeed I had many pleasant matches yesterday.

Thank you. I would probably not be welcomed, though, since the lowest ping I get between any European country is 350. The connection to U.S. West is relatively better. Sometimes I get as low as 150. And still got kicked a lot of time for it.
