Good Shotguns?

I'm on a hunt. The hunt for a good, no, GREAT shotgun. I've played with some pretty great types, in countless games, but I can't help but feel like I'm missing something. What games would you guys recommend, for a shotgun lover such as myself?

serious sam 3: BFE. theres 3 shotguns. one is a normal one with 10 round box magazine for quick reload. one is double barrel that is mroe pwoerful but reload after each shot. then there is the AS24 devastator. 20 round mag with explosive pellets. and since enemies come ins swarms, nothing is more satisfying than blowing up a bunch of grunts with a few blasts.

Oh man, I love the Devestator.

I'd also like to recommend the ballistic fist from fallout: new vegas. The thing is basically a fist and a shotgun mixed together, the most badass combination of all time.

Say what you want about the overall quality of the game, but I still think Doom 3 had a great shotgun. The original Doom's shotgun is classic, too. The Serious Sam games had great shotguns as well.

I also have fond memories of the closest thing the Unreal Tournament series has to a shotgun, the flak gun. :)

Also, because so many people have mentioned doom and L4D, I'll just go ahead and post a link to an amazing mod that gives you the doom shotgun in L4D2, set your fov to 60 and enjoy :D

Steam removed the keys, and I never wrote that down, so I cannot reinstall and get in because of GFWL.
