They're the teachers who taught me to fight me,
Compromise, conformity, assimilation, submission,
Ignorance, hypocrisy, brutality, the elite.
All of which are american dreams" - Rage against the machine
Comformity to higher authority is overrated, when your generation has already seen what higher authority has done for it's people and where it's heading...
This is has been used throughout history:

It doesn't work as well on youth brains, instead kids will question it more or completely ignore/disregard it. However, adults over years and years of brainwashing will simply accept higher authority - however weither it's postive or negative doesn't matter. You are programmed to conform to higher power over time...
You treat your kids too much like toddlers in US, in Scandinavia and most of Europe the 8th grader is already lot more independent, opinionated and usually has some rough idea what they want to do with their future.
What they called discipline back in the 1900s is now child abuse today.
No. Thats 9th grade. And be glad your in Europe. Americans here are getting more ignorant every day.
It is rather sad that they have low birth rates and they'll be a minority in their own country by 2050, Japan is doing it right by never allowing foreigners to become japanese citizen.
But better drop the topic indeed before the thread gets closed.
