Free Version of Half Life!
Hey Steam!
I just realized that after reading a discussion about Half Life needing to be free, there is one!
It's called Black Mesa (Black Mesa: Source)
All you need to download it is WinRAR of 7Zip
You have to get all of the files downloaded and then run the installer.
Afterwards, the game will install and a text box will appear telling you to restart Steam: AKA Logging out and logging back in. The game will be there, but it says it's Non-Steam. Right click and create a desktop shortcut if you want one, since the file doesn't create one. Afterwards, you can play Half Life in HD!
Download at: www.blackmesasource.com

Have fun!

"Black Mesa will require Steam client with the Source SDK Base 2007 installed to run.
Many Source games purchasable through Steam Store come with the Shared Resources, including the SDK, that you will need in order to run Black Mesa. To see if you can run Black Mesa, open Steam and look in the tools tab. If you see an entry titled "Source SDK Base 2007" installed, you can run Black Mesa."

It requires a Source game to install...
I don't have a Source game (I think)
Scratch that, I have Estranged: Act 1
I thought the the 2007 SDK base was now free?
i was about to point that out aswell... but WHY would you need to get a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ free version when half life 2 is only 10 bucks...

It is. Just go to tools in the library and download it.

Black Mesa is a good alternative to the first Half-Life, but I still recommend playing Half-Life.

Well, I used to have it back in the days of Windows XP. Then I moved houses a lot and now I can't find it.
I heard valve was making a official remake, so imma wait till then.
The Source SDK 2007 makes the game stop responding :/ Sorry guys

Why wasn't Half Life 1 included with the orange box?
