Smartphone zombies
I get the feeling the world - or at least the parts I live in - concern themselves only with Facebook and trivia. People appear as zombies to me staring downwards at their cellphones in a collective line of passivity sending messages non-stop via "WhatsApp". The smallest things of their lives are made as important as possible, because they too are very important persons that are obliged to get all they want as quickly as they want. None of them hesitates to glorify it in the public in one way or another. I get so many chances to glance at the high-res phone screens of others or listen to conversations. I could take photos myself if I had a smartphone or record it and discuss their lives with them or perhaps sell what I get from them to someone who would find it useful.

There have been similar changes before. The television, the PC, the whole "home entertainment" thing. But now it is all carried outwards. If I watch TV or sit in front of the PC all day it remains relatively personal, those who don't care won't notice it unless I push up the volume of either one.

At work it's the same thing. The first thing everyone is doing when he or she gets there is sharing pictures, videos and other trivia or discussing the newest smartphones available - I've been carrying the same phone around with me for perhaps ten years and still get along. Your department could have ten times to do than normal, there is no way around it. It seems a necessity to people like breathing air, drinking water, eating food and sheltering themselves from the cold.

I understand life and work can't be a 100 % serious all the time, but it seems only few people can set themselves reasonable limits here. Is this a new culture drug? Like smoking? Should we treat it as such? Should everyone take "You and the internet" lessons? I sure don't need to know what everyone spills around him- or herself, there are other things that trouble my mind already enough.

I myself feel the same way, I only use facebook and such to occasionally chat with friends and such, and I have never been into the posting statuses and such. But everyone around me is consumed by it, they may even text eachother instead of actually talking! It's absolutely ridiculous how easily people cave in to the temptations around them.

Unfortunately, on a website such as steam you are unlikely to get much positive feedback, as many on here are the very people of whom you talk about
I'm currently attempting to create a sexting app which can send the persons DNA over electrically to the other people to impregnant, removing 100% of any need to socialise in person at all for future generations! Of course the NSA spying and screen dumping of video images via the webcams has currently overloaded the servers, YAHOO!

pedophile
Don't call the NSA / GCHQ - project 'Optic Nerve' with Yahoo Webcam monitoring a pedophile, good US Tax Payers money helps run that... for the protection of your daughters against possible terrorists.

(Look it up yourself and see where this world is heading to - social media has become a gold mine as everyone uses it, so why not abuse it, it's the 'murica way - you know more about a person online, then you would in real life, the only thing missing is the person's DNA)
