I though that Hatsune Miku was just a show. then i read this. "Hatsune Miku is a humanoid persona voiced by a singing synthesizer application developed by Crypton Future Media. She uses Yamaha Corporation's Vocaloid 2 and Vocaloid 3 singing synthesizing technologies"
Wait one second .i have 2 questions here. What is a humaniod persona? and what are valcoids? and also. what is a singing synthesizer application?

It's not a show. Hatsune Miku and Vocaloids are essentialy voice synthesizers... a form of singing program in layman's terms. Later on, the illustrator Kei gave them human shape. In time, Vocaloids became popular and you have multiple composers writing songs which are later sung by them. They even have live performances featuring a real band and a 3D projection of the respective Vocaloid. As for the "humanoid persona", I'll try to explain. "Humanoid" means it resembles a human, but is not one. As for "persona", Vocaloids are characters w/o a fixed personality, their personality varies from song to song, depending on what kind of message the composer wants to relay through it.

P.S. A singing syntheseizer would be a voice reproducing program using samples of an actual human's voice as a foundation. Hope it helped a bit. Vocaloid music covers a wide arc of genres, you might as well give it a listen.

The Vocaloids are a group of virtual singers created by a software company in Japan.They created a software(like virtual instruments) that would alow you to make your own vocals instead of only intrumentals.The most famous software is Hatsune Miku,her voice was made was created using voice samples from a woman in Japan which makes Miku more real than most people think.Over the course of the years,thousands of music artists have emerged to become famous music producers in Japan like Kz livetune,Supercell and amny others.With increased popularity,Crypton Future Media decided to make a game out of the Vocaloids and they teamed up with SEGA to release Project Diva in 2009.Since then Miku and the Vocaloids have only gotten more popular.Through this software,song writers can make music from their heart and with a beautiful voice accompaning them.That is what the Vocaloids are,and that was the short version,the long version would break steam. 2. A humanoid personna is when people (i.e. Crypton) take samples of the human voice and make an artificial voice out of human samples.

3. The singing synthesizer is the actual classification of the software,that's what it does,Miku is synthezised through the computer and into music.

I personally listen to Vocaloid music everyday and am one of the biggest fans of the Vocaloids so I recommend listneing to them as like "Makenshi Crona" said that they cover almost every gener of music with thousands of users producing over a 100,000 songs using this software.

• Humanoid persona:it roughly means "something with human appearance", yes human voice also.
  
• "Valcoids" doesnt exist, "Vocaloids" on the other hand are a very popular music synthesizers , and with good reason, as they already told you this program can cover a good portion of musical tastes, if you like, or tolerate, japanese songs that is.
  
• " Singing synthesizer application": like any synthesizer, is a program to create sounds, this one is specialized on the sounds that can produce a vocalist.
