this site: http://systemrequirementslab.com/cyri
How trustworthy can it be? cause some games i own i can play it smoothly and it says i doesn't meet the requirement, while one game i tried was pretty laggy, not sure if it was the net or the pc but it said i passed the requirement :/ so i am a bit confused

Not very trustworthy, for instance, It doesn't have the proper info on my intergrated chipset, and I've found that I can run games that it says I can't, as well as the other way around.

Overall, I wouldn't rely on it.

Well, this is mainly because " Can you run it" site doesn't really tell you anything about how well the game will run on your pc and how well the game is optimzed, it only compares the system requirments of the game with the specs of your pc which is a very inaccurate way if you ask me because system requirments of games are generally unreliable and sometimes they are overstated by the developers themselves. Some games have high system requirments nevertheless they can run smoothly even on low end pcs on lowest settings while other games like dark souls have low system requirments but can run horribly even on high end pcs. It all depends on the optimization of the game so I would never really trust " Can you run it".

It said I could never run Transformers: War for Cybertron.
I run it perfectly fine.
Don't trust it.

so do you guys recommend any site or program? or should just trust my gut?
just google benchmarks for that game that you want.

Yougamers by futuremark was a more reliable site to see if your computer can run a game, but unfortunately the website has been shutdown. Though, they'll move the "game-o-meter" benchmark to their main website later this year.

I used to trust "Can you run it" but that was with an old PC. When I started custom builds it never got it right. It was constantly telling me I lacked in something and when I looked at it, it either didn't have some information from my PC or it read it wrong. Sometimes I played the very game it said I couldn't play and I would turn up the graphics as high as they would go and my PC worked just fine.
Ultimately it's just a waste of time.

Not dependable. I just tested it to see if i could run The Witcher 3 and it said my CPU didn't meet the minimum requirements of AMD Phenom II x4 940 2.8 ghz while my CPU is an Intel i5 4460 3.2 ghz. So i googled the comparison, and no contest. Intel i5 beats the crap out of the Phenom II on every front. So my question to Can you run It is: who makes your determinations? its so off.

Since the last post was over a year ago, I am pretty sure they figured that out.

Oh yeah? prove it.

It can give you a general idea fo where your system stands. But anything specific is where it will struggle, like all scanners. It is trustworthy in that it won't give you a virus. Best thing to do would be to learn specs so you don't need a scanner.

oh i know specs. I didn't use CYRI to base my decision to buy a game or not, i used it to confirm a forum query.

Fine, I'll play along. Learn to read specs. It isn't hard, or nearly as mysterious as people make out, as in the first few chapters of a an A+ book, as long as it isn't the Mike Myers' (Not the comedian actor) book, and learn to know what your system should be able to do, and figure out your resource loads on your own.

You learn that, and weirdly enough, you get to live like me, 179 game on Steam, 100 games on alternate platforms and older, and no issues outside of software serverside issues.

Huh. You know that statement that immediately disqualifies you as someone to talk to and discuss things with just because of personal disgust.

Have a nice day.

well, you're hardly in a position to make that determination. And i'm glad you're sorry you butt in with your arrogance. "You learn that, and weirdly enough, you get to live like me..." you had it coming, now get outta here.
