You know France didn't help America out for no reason, they were still upset over the 7 year war, Besides the only country France likes to fight more than Britain is Germany.
What does something that happened in the 18th or 19th century would even matter for the ppl in the 21th century?
Nobody cares ,that is just past times and nobody will even waste a single second of their time thinking about France helping for independence 3 centuries ago...
As for the question itself, I do not see americans hating french so...
How can my thoughts be full of anything but myself?
How can I live in a time where that is not true?
That's entirely possible, but unfortunately my preconceived notions state otherwise.
I suppose a stateless state would be nice, for a moment.
That's how it SHOULD be. Sadly people in fact do get angry over wars that happened centuries go, and blame people today for things they didn't do.
As any time period may give rise to these kinds of groups, one can argue that in every time (all time) there is a possibility that your thoughts are full of anything but you.
like... "ohhonhon! we will develop our own machine gun that is not compatible with anyone else's and only works in a vaccum because it was designed on a bagette honhon!"
