Air Conditioning in Europe.

On hot summer days like these, I'd absolutely love to have an AC unit.
But then I realise, it costs a fortune to install and operate. All that effort for only for a week or two in a year.
Smart ventilation and a cold shower if absolutely nothing helps does a way better job for way less money. A trip to the supermarket is also a cool experience during these times.

What are your thoughts on AC? Is it worth it in your area?
Better than building a house with decent ventilation out of brick and mortar? ;P

nice thing about making your own solar is you can run it if you want without worrying

I can't use AC because I'll get a flu from it. One summer I have been sick 5 times because of it.

sounds like you not use it properly or it is a poorly maintained device. airconditioning is used to prevent microbes on airplanes and in hospitals.

The only reason Europe doesn't have AC I think is because it doesn't get 130 F in Europe like in the US.

Everyone has it here. It's actually more important for humidity regulation than temperature regulation. In some places, if you turn off the A/C for a week, maybe even less, you're going to grow mold.

Humidity is a killer. I live in one of the more humid places on Earth. Metal literally rusts overnight.

K it's been years you guys tell us were gonna die i'm still not dead over not having air conditionning.
