AR15 or AK47?

Personally I will say I prefer the AR-15 due to it's light weight, accuracy and comfort. I suppose the way you load it is quite unique as well however overall it's my favorite rifle due to how reliable and comfortable it is, not much to say other than that.

The AK-47 is roughly based off of the German STG-44 except with none of the wear and tear issues that assault rifle had, for it's age it has aged quite well, is relatively cheap and hard to break. That being said I don't think it's the most reliable weapon since it's prone to jamming, also it's just a very uncomfortable weapon especially in comparison to the AR-15.

In different regions they have different availabilities.
For example, the STALKER game is taken place in Ukraine, therefore it's much easier to find ammo and guns that belong to the AK family (or the entirety of Warsaw pact arsenals)

i'll speak of the 1965 era of both rifles.

the older model 47's were a superior firearm honestly in terms of power and range, accuracy, it was basically a sniper weapon. could fire when wet, muddy or sandy, and would just be a bullet type writer.

my main gripe with it is the dangerous charging handle. if you needed to expose the breech for whatever reason, and you didn't have a good grip on that tiny nub of steel perhaps from shooting all day, or the rigors of combat, it would slam shut and the bolt would cycle and fire by itself sometimes. trigger pull not required.

the m16 features a charging handle you pull back like a bowstring. index and middle finger required. takes a second or two longer, but the handle is much more safe.
