Getting your house bombed isn't like getting evicted. You're not given 30 days notice to prepare to go somewhere else. You'll be lucky if you even get 5 minutes notice to say your prayers and prepare to meet your maker, much less even just one singular hour.
Most of us simply aren't going to survive a nuclear attack on our city. That's like, the main point of a nuclear attack, and there isn't much that can be done about it.
if it is an ICBM launch on the opposite side of the earth then you have 30 minutes until it arrives.
closer than that arrives even sooner, and if it is a submarine launch you could be looking at 4 minutes.
so good luck, you'd have to be given an advance warning before the launch (like, marking it in you calendar) to really be able to do much about it.
It is very unlikely that you would have "hours." And, if you did, you're a second/third-class target and the war would have been going on for those "hours" already. Other cities would already be glassed and a lot of public infrastructure would have been trashed.
If you're in a big city when something like this happens, you're gonna either be a shadow or meat.
Your best bet is to have already moved to a very low/non priority area. If you can see the flash, you're gonna have a bad time...
Basically - If you're not already ready, it's just about too late. The Preppers would love it, but there'd not be many people they could say "I told you so" to.
Wish people were smarter.
