This still seems a fluid situation so we shouldn't be panicking (yet) by any means.
Here[backlinko.com] you go.
It doesn't show a constant tracking since it says "at least once a month" but it gives an idea that people who don't use adblockers are a majority.
Hot take: Subscription services are an easy way to take anonymity away from people. I remember going to burger king, paid with a card and got an email thanking me for the order cuz I had this same card registered to their app.
It's just a start towards an internet ID that they've always wanted. Soon they will say, "Well we already know who you are on most sites anyways cuz of the subscription. What's the difference?"
There is definitely more to all of this than they're letting up.
huh?
And i'm using Firefox.
Yes, that's correct. For right now. I said in an earlier post that MV3 is first going to be implemented in the experimental builds in mid 2024 (Google says). That gives extension developers specifically the chance to get to work on an actual browser. I'm expecting more pushback by Google because of the greed factor. But we can't predict anything at this stage....
Edit: adding this snip which restates the obvious but also contains a quote from Google explaining its MV3 "true purpose." What a bunch of....

That's the problem with there being nearly no way to do anonymous online payments, that's where the actual issue is not with the subscriptions themselves (they have other issues tho).
Again worst part being that people actually want this.
Just a few days ago two guys were getting downvoted to hell on r/SteamDeck for posting about using a stack of Steam Gift Cards to get the OLED.
They're so offended that a few still refuse to sell themselves out for "convenience".
They know what they support is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, that's why they must have everyone comply so they never have to run into someone who made better decisions than them.
YT age restriction is a perfect example of this, only videos YT dislikes with get it and they conveniently ask for ID from anyone who wants to view them. They're totally not compiling a list of those who watch videos they'd rather you don't see.
I know that botting is being combined with AI to try to sway public opinion and make bad ideas seem like a majority support it. It's really not a conspiracy at this point. AI is starting to make the internet a giant fantasy land where you can't trust anything you see or even trust anyone you talk to is real.
Worst is the energy vehicles.

2026 kill switch was inserted into another omnibus bill that nobody read. Lets cars be remotely disabled using the excuse of "impaired driving" but I hope nobody buys that anymore.
EVs don't allow you to travel as far as gas did without having to make frequent stops, sometimes long stops depending on your car.
EVs allow mass surveillance of everything and everyone from the inside of your car to your surrounding area.
EVs can be programmed to be bound to a grid and if your car tries to drive away from this grid it shuts down (and probably reports the attempt to the authorities).
Things are getting crazy scary and I hope people wake up before it's too late, if it already isn't too late...
What is the browser doing that it needs to gobble up that much ram?
Preparing all the spam to throw at your face.
Oh come on serious answer. What does a browser do that needs that much memory? Are web pages that intensive?
