I watch manlybadasshero and T90 Official sometimes. Manly has been making horror game videos since before youtube even existed. He's one of the longest running streamers ever. He still does a good job.
I also watch town of salem games sometimes. It's fun just to watch the chaos.
On another note, I think RedLetterMedia is going the same route for me, but it's not because I don't enjoy their content, it's because I can't get over the fact that they've lost their energy and enthusiasm for their work. It was fun when it was an ironic thing, but now it feels too pervasive to not be real lethargy. This results in them feeling like they don't have much to say anymore, or any sharpness to their criticisms.
Their content was great when they were just two friends hanging out at each others homes recording all sorts of weird ♥♥♥♥ to replay in slow-mo. I lost interest after they started getting sponsored because everything became too scripted.
either went mad with fame and fortune or just stopped the ruse and became themselves lol.
I mean ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dude stop making channels.
It's as if he comes up with a hypothesis that runs counter to the lore. Then argues against said lore. Twisting it from what it is to what he wants it to be. Makes leaps of logic. Glosses over the math. Then wraps it up by tying in some other weak theory he made. Acting as if it's proof his new theory is correct as well.
His arguments about Star Wars are some of the worst I've seen.
He says that The Empire is actually a good thing. Totally ignoring the fact that it's oppressive, sexist, racist, and genocidal. It took me one sentence to destroy his theory. He started with a conclusion. Then twisted the facts to suit his narrative.
He also claims Jedi are the real villains. Why? Because they separate children from parents. Robbing them of individuality through brainwashing. Which is a good argument. Until you consider that morality in the Star Wars galaxy isn't some intangible concept. It's a very real thing. Force sensitive people can directly feel good and evil. The Jedi traditions exist to prevent evil from taking root.
I want to mention more, but this post is already getting long. So, last one.
PewDiePie. He either sticks to formula, (and it's boring) or he breaks formula (and it's boring). It went from "Watch me react to dumb internet things" to "Watch me, my hot wife, and my cute dogs doing mundane life things".
His Mario Maker videos and his absurd commentary were so entertaining to watch, but then Youtube happened and made him censor his words and tone down a bit which ruined what was so fun in the first place to me.
These days he mostly focuses on streaming. The streams are entertaining sometimes but I really miss his videos which he rarely uploads. His videos had this charm that I liked.
There were his Skyrim days where he was more vulgar, probably too vulgar but after he stopped doing that he was still good and entertaining to watch, perhaps even better.
I need to watch his The Sims 3 series again. Feeling nostalgic.
