thats what i got from the first two eps i watched. not going into more detail due to people crying about spoilers. but thats the jist of the 1st two episodes. it was horrible and your typical 'backwards' anime kid and the typical 'badass' girl who meets and like him fantasy tripe. add a little akira and some motorcycles.

Yeah, the first couple episodes are very tropey. But when people started dying (and not just D's mom), the real flavor of Polish-Japanese fusion came out. Gets bleak pretty quick after the initial set-up. Hadn't seen a good "everyone dies, no one gets laid" ending like that since my days of bootleg anime.

Understandable if you don't want to give it another shot. I recently tried rewatching and the whole mom-dies-motivation trope is super cringe. Been trying to push my way through it so I can binge the last half of the season like I did originally.

Overall, I have mixed feelings about the show. It seems to be a wonderful drawing, but the plot and the fullness of the Cyberpunk world is lame. True , the main character died and this is not a typical fairy tale, but a real thriller with a sad ending.

have you seen literally anything studio trigger has made in the past couple of years?
They all literally end like that lmao.

It was okay. Cyberpunk genre needs more meat to better flesh out the world just like we need more atompunk and steampunk shows.


Overall i'd say it's a good anime and that CDPR piggybacking on the success of it is b.s.

I have not viewed it yet, but I enjoy Trigger’s previous works, like LWA, so I have high hopes for the series. Trigger’s storytelling and freestyle animation style generally makes for entertaining shows.

Except the story is nothing short of a contrived copypasta of Akame Ga Kill. The similarities are almost uncanny.
