Too long time ago though, wish I could be born in that time.

I'm sure they wish the same for your time, specially the ones burning and getting clubbed by the barbarians.

"Whhhy.....Whyyyyy did I have to be born in this time!"

They would go, "Man the year 2000 that sounds so cool! I wanna be born then and ride around on rocket skates."

Oh well, never mind then. Still though, Rome was great, from what I heard so far.

Thanks I’ll check it out
The two main reasons would be its size and the treatment of its workforce. The sheer size made it ultimately impossible even for a senate of 100 people to keep track of everything going on in the country and then there were the slave riots. The Roman Empire's economy had ruthlessly exploited and abused slaves as workforce and eventually they had enough. Internal issues combined with constant incursions of bordering tribes... the Huns gave the western half of it the coup de grace. The eastern half made it another 1000 years by abolishing slavery and clever politics.

Barbarians invaded.

Funny thing is, they never meant to invade or overthrow anything. To them, they were just immigrating. They just killed and plundered because that's how they roll.
When they do it no one cares BUT when I do... 🙄
Amazing nobody in this thread brought up lead.

The jury is still out on whether or not lead poisoning was a factor, but lead exposure is well known to cause all sorts of neurological problems.

Right. Aside from slavery, Rome was great for its period of time.
Well considering that Rome was a chicken, probably became a part of a delicious Imperial Carthaginian Fried Chicken

a lot of reasons (mostly internal) and sadly in a very similar way the U.S. is falling/declining now. you are basically witnessing it live on TV everyday. And now like back then people will be amazed and surprised when it does finally happen.

basically all this does is highlight the fact that no matter the time period or time gone by. people are people and people don't change, just the time and technologies do.

i do think Rome could return though. Not exactly, but The EU may kick some members out and re configure itself to make a sorta of 'new rome' if you will.
the eu is too slow and weak to ever be called roman successor. it doesn't have any feeling of unity either and no one takes it seriously in politics

even russia prefers to speak to the united states instead of the eu

Speaking to EU is like speaking to a room full of different people.
Ask the once glorious EU folks, they are going through the same phase.

Rome went woke and Rome got broke. Apparently.
Yes it was the Age of Decadence.
Invasions by the Barbarian tribes
Economic troubles and over reliance on slave labor
Rise of Eastern empire
Military over spending
Government corruption and political instability

What Pax Romana does to a mf.
They simply weren't sophisticated enough and for their time were but rather savages.

Paranoid savages as well.

Barbarians until real barbarians from neighboring tribes that they couldn't conquer came and wrecked them because they had enough of their ♥♥♥♥♥.

Then the modern world ensued.

It also didn't help that they were false, wicked, dominant and power hungry and as I noted or as has been noted by historians and alike, that they were highly paranoid and untrustworthy to and by their own peers, and as one knows and as it has been established since then as they themselves once knew and as has been known and probably will be as well, that..

An (strong) organization needs to be able to stand together as one.

Regardless to say that the irony of that particular situation was that the modern Organizational bodies have taken a lot of lessons from the very same, paranoid barbarians that in essence either:

A) Created them, or;

B) Inspired and thus Spurred them on to be.

I am not an anarchist. Or am I? I see myself rather as a tribesman not belonging to any particular tribe, though.

That being said. I think that modern organizational bodies, like governments and such.

Unions, shall we say.

Are doing rather a marvelous job of ... managing and in that effect of say ruling or existing, I think. Something like the European Union comes to mind. EU is doing quite a job on the world stage, unlike many of my peers probably wouldn't agree with, which makes me stand out once more and twice more than usual by prefixing this.
