Was Family Guy better before or after it was cancelled?

Apparently many people believe it got better after it was revived for its fourth season, but I still think it was better before (with the exception of the Star Wars episodes). I feel like the early episodes had better plots and humour than the later seasons, although it's still a good show in my opinion.
