Why do you think some songs start off slow? Or have a long build up?
When a lot of times if a song doesn't grab someone early on they may switch to a different song. It always seems like a risky creative choice. It can bore the listener. As a nightcore listener, normal songs are already at a disadvantage of being slower than what I'm used too.

Do you OT prefer songs with a slow start? Or songs that start off strong. Or perhaps songs that stay about the same throughout? For example I consider https://youtu.be/WYrO_eVSc6U a song thats about the same throughout.

I've noticed a lot of Rock and Metal songs tend to start slow and become heavier part of the way through.

It's about building up emotion and giving you the strength to capture the enemy fort with extreme prejudice.

Now move out, soldier!

It depends. I like the build-up in some songs. What I don't like too much is if the climax after the build-up is actually the only worthwhile part listening to (so that you actually feel bored before and after and find yourself often jumping right to the good parts). And sometimes I need a bit of a more constant tune in my ears. Having songs with build-ups or generally different pacing throughout can distract a bit, or require you to pay a bit attention to in order to "feel" it.

You'll learn to enjoy slower songs as you grow old.

Ummmmm probably not. Cuz the older I get the faster I like the music. And the more coffee I like to drink.

Theres "chill" and theres "boring". Chill is cool.

Coffee and music have the same job, keeping my vibe high.
Well, not everybody sees it that way.

If people switch to a different song, that's okay, that's not a problem. Not every song has to be for everyone.
