Is it normal for pizza guy to give change back?
Is it normal for a pizza guy to ask if I want my change back? My brother ordered pizza and the pizza guy asked if he wanted his change back. Most pizza we ordered no delivery person ever asked if we wanted our change back and just took everything we gave them as tip.

Uh...yea. The amount that is required for you to pay is in the charge. Any other money you give them would be additional tip which you should pay just to show good manners.

I think it's normal and advisable. Every time I give the pizza guy more money, I wait for him to give me my change back..

I usually pay a couple bucks over my charged price those extra bucks goes to tip pizza guy. First time I've ever seen pizza guy ask that.

Nope. He knows from my looks that I'm not the one to give change :yazdwink:

Some will. I mean if the pizza cost $21 and you hand him $30 most people aren't going to give a $9 tip. But I usually have enough smaller bills to just hand them the cost + tip and not get change. And I say thanks and that usually let's them know "no change required" without actually having to say it.

Um, yes? Whenever I get pizza delivered, the delivery guy always gives me back my change. Cash tips are pretty much non-existent here in New Zealand anyway, no matter where you go.

Asking if you want your change is pushing it. The most proper way the whole thing should go is: You give them the money, they give you your change, then you give them the tip.

I had one guy get lippy after I gave him two twenties for a $23 order(because that's all the paper I had). He just turned and walked away so he'd get a $17 tip. When I called him back for my change, in a snotty tone he said something like, "You're not gonna give me a tip?" I had intended to give him $5, but that little stunt cost him any tip, and I called his manager. They told me that wasn't the first time someone complained about that guy either.

I've worked a couple jobs that got tips. I never expected a tip as guarenteed, and and certainly never took one with out it being offered.

Call his manager. He was ripping you off.

It's suposed to be automatic change back unless you tell them to keep it.
