Chrome keeps crashing after using steam

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this? Anyway I recently started playing Skyrim again and somehow it's been making google chrome crash when I open it. If I close out of skyrim and steam and then go to open chrome it just freezes. It tells me that chrome is not responding and then I close it and have to open chrome again (sometimes I have to do this multiple times for it to actually work). I haven't had any other problems with chrome lately, only after I have been on steam. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to fix this? Because it is really damn annoying.

It's not a Steam issue.

I would blame it on you for running too many resource intensive programs to the point where your computer has to terminate a program in order to still function.

Please post your system specs & the resource usages.

It's a Dell XPS 64 bit running windows 7, I'm not sure how to tell resource usages though?

I don't run chrome at the same time as skyrim, so would that still be an issue? I close out of all other programs before I open steam. Tonight I was on skyrim for a bit, then took a break and closed out and watched a dvd. After that I still had the same problem with chrome even though it was 2 hours later.

Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? I don't even have to play skyrim for this to happen. If I open Steam, and don't even do anything with it, and then open Chrome, it just crashes. Otherwise Chrome works fine.
