"For the Emperor and Sanguinius!"
War Cry of the Blood Angels
"For eleven hundred years, I have fought and I have seen the darkness in our galaxy. I have seen the vileness of the alien and the heresy of the mutant. I have witnessed the sin of possession. I have seen all the evil that the galaxy harbours, and I have slain all whose presence defiles the Emperor. I have seen what you will see. I have fought what you must fight, and I have slain what you must slay... so fear not and be proud, for we are the sons of Sanguinius, the protectors of Mankind. Aye, we are indeed the Angels of Death."
Dante, Commander of the Blood Angels
Some say that the Blood Angels are tainted: that they harbour a dark secret. I know this to be true. I have seen the infamous Death Company: wild-eyed and foam-mouthed berserkers who tear their enemies limb from limb, crush skulls with a single blow, snap spines and rip out inner organs. I have seen the Sanguinary Priests: the passing of blood filled chalices from lip to lip, heard their wracking lamentations of Sanguinus's death. I have watched their rituals: mighty warriors daubing their armour in the blood of their foes, heard them crying for vengeance against the enemies of the Emperor.
Inquisitor N'Syun
Wherever and whenever they appear they leave only destruction in their wake; they are the Lords of Death, Bringers of War. The Dark Angels.
If you missed it, I kind of prefer the Blood Angels.
Tau badass voices>rest of races
I did miss it, and unsurprisingly so, given that the Dark Angels are an entirely different Chapter. Now that I see where you might have gotten the name from, it's a little more clear.
Indeed, it's unsurprising that we've been at odds in the past, since the battle cry of my Iron Hands is "The Flesh is Weak!" Not the best battle-cry, especially when your initiates literally replace their right hands with iron ones and then complain that the flesh is weak. Kind of makes you wonder what they're complaining about. Really, we must have come up with that battle-cry before we had proper cogitators. It's not a battle cry at all, it's just a battle-whine, complaining about ourselves, really.
Oh well, no matter how bad some of GW's fluff is, "Faith is Eternal." Just one of my favorite quotes from every Iron Hands Brother's ultimate desire: to be one of these bad boys - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jD4hD9CuBcM
Can't argue with any of those quotes for sounding awesome.
The Dark Angels were the 1st Legion or the Original 20, and are still first among the Space Marine Chapters
The Blood Angels were the 9th Legion, berserk blood drinkers, and I first learned about them from Space Hulk.
And neither were an influence for my screen name.
