What finger do you use to press shift?
Just wondering what other people do, cause my friend says it's strange to put my thumb on shift, when he uses his pinkie. What do you guys do?

index finger on shift key and pinkie finger on ctrl key.
also necro ftw.
i use my ring finger on shift, and my pinky on A & D. my middle finger presses W & S while my other fingers reload, etc.
I use my thumb to run and i don't use thumb for space cause i don't frequently jump on games.

Yes, well, that only applies if you're using both hands on the keyboard. Most games require one hand on the mouse and one hand on the keyboard.
Incorrect. WASD is meant for the index, middle, and ring finger. The pinky finger is used for shift and ctrl, while the thumb is reserved for space and alt. That is the proper form for WASD controls.
This^^^

You usually anchor your middle finger onto W and swivel to reach any keys you need. On the left you can reach with your pinkie, topright can be reached with index and if you really need to reach somewhere extremely far right, swivel and use your thumb

Then you're not doing it efficiently, and therefore you are wrong. Interfaces are about efficiency and long term comfort. This applies to keyboards, mouses, joysticks, steering wheels, trackballs, or whatever else you can think of. There is a correct and optimal way to use every control scheme. They are all deliberately designed specifically for that optimal usage. WASD is no exception to that rule.

For example, in order to press the left shift key with your thumb on a WASD control scheme, you have to rotate your whole hand at least 90 degrees and raise your elbow. It's slow, awkward, and it's immediately obvious that it's wrong. It's probably the clearest example.
I got called being noob is a lot games including Call Of Duty cause i don't be fast and jumping.
I use my keyboard like other esport gamers rotated and im not having best comfort on my keyboard.

This is what I do now ^ But oddly enough while typing I still use my thumb to press shift to make something uppercase. Guess it's just a habit at this point.
My foot toe obviously kappa
