Of course when it was announced people started yelling "woke!"
As for the question, the book would be boring as hell. The girls would all sit down and organize a civil effective communal structure and thrive until rescued. In my experience women don't suffer from the machismo "king of the mountain" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that we do. They don't let their egos run their lives.
Story Version:
Since the book was about just how primal human nature is; especially in the absence of authority then the story would basically be the same. The events might have played out differently but primal human nature would still shape those events.
Real Life Survival:
If it was real life then the outcome would most likely be different than the book regardless of gender. Primal human nature will still shape events but the struggles to survive will be more raw and gruesome. I predict a survival rate of 10% to 15%.
Most of the fatalities will be due to the inability to adapt to the elements of nature; mainly from waterborne pathogens and accidents.
The struggle to secure food and fire will eliminate more by starvation and exposure.
There will also be a few fatalities from violence.
Cannibalism is not off the table, desperate people do desperate things.
