Next, I don't think you understand how a smart fridge works?
The tap to see inside isn't just for you humans to view, but rather the fridge to calculate what's remaining inside the fridge itself. A smart fridge will keep a data record of the items placed in the fridge vs used/taken out.
From that food data, you can set your own food recipes to make for the day/week, etc. It's connected online to purchase the items you need to restock. Or have it even suggest what to make from what you have available.
Smart fridges are designed to order your own groceries or provide a shopping list for you.
The 3D camera setup inside can even detect and warn you when running low on milk.
Yes... The tap twice to check inside is you telling it to check the stock again for you and ensure it's right... just in case it's messed up, got new stock just loaded in, or your kids and dog raid the fridge at night, etc. Otherwise it will probably already know what's inside.
I personally love it... then again I love all smart technology for my chill lazy lifestyle.
You can even get an app on your smartphone to ask your smart fridge questions:
"Any beers left in the fridge?"
LG HomeChat: You have 3 beers left in the fridge.
"Can I make Nachos for dinner tonight?"
LG HomeChat: You have all the required ingredient for Nachos, except sour cream and onions. Do you want to add sour cream and onions to the shopping list?
(Spoiler alert, they're not smart.)
I've got a smart watch as well to keep record of my step count, exercise and sleep quality, etc.
Plus a Roomba (robot vaccum cleaner)...
What year are you guys still living in?
