Do you think Police around the world has an increasingly negative reputation within society for a deserved reason or do you think it’s unreasonable?

I say the force as a whole, generally speaking except for a minority does deserve negative reputation as they have done everything to earn it.

I honestly don’t understand why every time I talk to a cop they act like a sociopath with veiled threats for no reason. Minor traffic violation? “I never want to see you in my town again.”

While it might seem very minor, a person I live with is a LEO and while most times he's tolerable, when he wants to refer to people of color he simply calls them 'blacks' like a racist realizing he cant say the n slur anymore

ofc it is =/=. none said is equal at all. there is always a risk. that risk will never be eliminated.
but having the right to protest is what is quintessential imho. to have that right, even if it fails.
it has worked though numerous times as history shows. but no its not a de facto outcome.

that is the risk. here police has murdered 15 year olds. if not outright defunding then hard limitations had to be implied. and they did. after almost six months of protesting.
even the cop who murdered the kid got jail for life. which is just and the kids mother felt justice as well. i do remember the Michael Brown incident. there's the police version of events, and there's Mikes friend version. i assume each individual sticks to each version he/she/they like.
BLM didn't just got a foothold out of that incident, there was also the George Floyd incident, and Eric Garner. i remember those too. And Javier Ambler, Manuel Ellis and Elijah McClain.

this happened. people died from police fire. but none said that there aren't police that actually do their job. some do, but there are also cops that get corrupted. but up to you as you wish.

Right, I’m a criminal now. It’s so easy to classify someone like that over nothing. And this is why I no longer have any sympathy for the pro police side. They will even back the sociopath cops.

Ah but consider the Ashli Babbitt case...not all cops are bad...but if you were a cop and saw a fellow cop murder a woman in cold blood and then be given a medal for it for political reasons, Could you stand by? And if you stood by does this make you a bad cop? How evil do your partners in law get to be before you're just following orders and part of the bad guys?

I agree with this. I just hate it’s like Russian roulette, every time you interact with a cop you have to hope you don’t get judge dredd or sociopath power tripping loser cop.

Not all cops, but damn the bad make interactions with any of them hell.

it is loss of life. a protester died. she protested and she was killed.
if i was a cop and i saw that happening, i would quit the next day tbh.
and i would quit because i wouldn't want to be in the force that murders people.
precisely because killing people is not acceptable for me personally. it never was.
