Moreover, the U.S.A. doesn't recognize Taiwan as a sovereign nation anyway.
Also, it's kind of messed up given that U.S./Taiwanese relations are better than U.S./Chinese relations, but Trump would have rather had you buying from China (20% liberation day tariff) than Taiwan (32% liberation day tariff). Granted, Chinese tariffs are generally speaking much higher now, except on the few products he reduced back down to 20% recently, but that's only because China defied him.
So it's not as if being made in china is much of negative if we're judging by what Trump thinks a fair tariff rate would be, so it's kind of like whatever. If you were buying Taiwanese product before, it's not like there's much of a reason not to buy Taiwanese product now, aside from price shifts.
