The Online Game That Traumatized Me as a Kid [Creepypasta]

I don’t know if anyone else has seen this game, but what happened to me still haunts me to this day. There are no records of it online, but I remember it like it was yesterday…

It all started one morning in April 2015. I was 10 years old and bored, so I turned on my computer and searched for online games. I don’t remember the exact site, but it was a Flash game page. Since I liked haunted house games, I found one called "Haunted House Scary Game."

The menu was simple: a cartoonish haunted house with child-friendly Halloween music. Nothing scary. When I pressed "Start," a text box appeared:

"It’s Halloween night. You go from house to house trick-or-treating. While wandering, you find an old but livable house. You knock on the door and wait for someone to answer with a ‘Trick or Treat!’ But no one comes… and strangely, the door is unlocked."

The game was a Point & Click where you explored rooms like the kitchen, living room, and a bedroom. In the kitchen, I found a key inside a cupboard. When I clicked on it, a message popped up:

"Basement Key obtained."

I used the key to unlock the basement door and went down. That’s when things got weird.

The basement looked more like a dungeon. On one of the walls, there was a door with a realistic painting of a family. When I clicked on it, a terrifying sound played: a woman’s scream, followed by a song with a guitar in the background and a female voice repeating "Quick Solo Girl."

The song started glitching, slowly removing fragments of itself until it became a distorted mess. The screen began flashing violently. In between the flashes, a realistic woman appeared… getting closer… until she jumpscared the entire screen.

My computer froze for a few seconds. Then, without warning, a video started playing.

It was a blurry emergency room recording. Doctors surrounded a man on a stretcher. His face was completely deformed, as if they were trying to fix it. In the background, there was static, but layered over it was another sound: chickens clucking in an empty echoing room.

Then, my computer shut itself off.

I was paralyzed. I started crying in fear and called my parents. When they turned my computer back on, everything was normal. They told me to go eat… but when I looked at the clock, it was 1:34 p.m..

I had started playing around 10:30 a.m..

That night, I couldn’t sleep. I never played online games again.

Years later, when I heard about Sprunki, it reminded me a bit of the game’s graphics… as if it was made from PowerPoint slides.

Sometimes, when I browse old game sites, I feel like I’ll come across it again.

Or worse… like it will find me.
