It's gonna be expansive. Cause it's a bad idea. The chickens could get gapeworm. I would suggest a racoon or a possum. But their not allowed in your country, and legal game.

It would very much depend on local regulations although I've never heard of anyone renting chickens before. Right now in the UK all birds like chickens have to be kept indoors because of bird flu outbreaks. Other things to consider would be predators such as foxes especially overnight if they are not housed correctly. Ideally you'd provide a coop that protects them and also protects your flowerbeds.

Have you considered slug and snail pellets rather than trying to hire out chickens? Seems like a much simpler and cheaper solution to me.

I'm gonna say yes if can find a farm willing to lend their chicken out to you, but if live in a city limits, they might not allow you have exotic animals, so check your city/town, and area bylaws, or even ask in the area about how to go about it if they allow you to have a chicken, or not even if you're renting it, or babysitting it.

People rent out goats, giraffes, and llamas for landscaping here. There’s probably a chicken business somewhere, but snails are kind of a 24/7 thing so it’d be hard to structure that business.

Buying chicke nand keeping chicken are not quite the same. Getting some to off the snails in your garden does not require you to have a chicken coop, feed them, take care of them.

Buying chicke nand keeping chicken are not quite the same. Getting some to off the snails in your garden does not require you to have a chicken coop, feed them, take care of them.

That be labor and starting cost really, feed is cheap, buying chicken off a chicken farm is also not expensive, but either way if one willing to put effort into doing this, likely to consider the cost to setting up, before buying a farm animal.

If you want to get rid of snails maybe you can use beer to trap them and kill them, like inside a big bucket or something like that, as far as I know they love beer they can't resist

A living chicken should be a few dollars, OP... You can harvest it's meat or keep them as a pet. Or leave them in wilderness.
