When I hear that to me it sounds like guys who are jelious that girls can easily get attention this way, but it's actualy not always the case. If the girl is not a half naked model the tag "girl gamer" will not generate any attention.
You'd be surprised.
I'm a gamer who unfortunatly happens to be a girl and get treated like ♥♥♥♥ because of it. I should have to hide the fact that I'm a girl to be treated as a normal gamer :/
Or, hell, look at how the simple act of mentioning your gender, or having boobs (seriously, what?) can somehow be construed as a cry for attention.
There are plenty of people who play videogames that aren't like that, though. Just realize that self-identified "Gamers" carry a lot of baggage along with the term.
So why should people get singled out for something completely irrelevant....
Because they can.
And there u have it boys n girls, that's why u get singled out
I have tested that with my boyriend in the past. As a girl alone we are seen as every bad word in the book, but as the GF of a respected gamer oh that is all of a sudden ok. The thing is I'm actually more of a gamer and better at games than my BF but yet others will only accept me if he is seen as better than me. Am I the only one who thinks this is bad?
