Can I buy a NVIDIA promo key from another country? Region lock?

I don't know why the hell Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is costing R$200 here in Brazil... I'm not brave enough to spend such money. Game releases usually cost around R$100.

I found someone selling a NVIDIA promo key for Steam. The key is from the USA. If I buy it, will this key be able to be activated in my brazillian Steam account?

I got the game for free for buying a NVIDIA GPU. Feels good. The keys are universal I believe.

I believe this is allowed. When you use a promo key for Nvidia, it will ask the country then or auto-detect it, verify your proof of purchase and give according to that country you selected during the activation. Any issues, just contact Nvidia and claim it was a overseas gift. Keep the payment receipt and a photo of your graphics card serial handy.

EDIT: Oh you are purchasing the promo code without the card? I assumed it was just a graphics card purchase from overseas. Well then, that would likely be at your own risk, if you can't verify the actual card proof of purchase that might be required. I know ASUS wants both a photo of purchase receipt and the actual graphics card with serial number on it to confirm. I guess because people have been attempting to steal them, generate them or something.
