However The Clintons used to be on good terms with Trump back when he was funding the democrats more, and this is the number 2 foreign affairs matter in the world at large right now (following the humanitarian crisis in Gaza) so that may be somewhat reflective of her legitimate stance. Am I too naive for believing people are capable of letting bygones be bygones and putting the small stuff aside?
I don't believe he can pull it off, and more importantly even if he did, there is something else to consider: I never believed the Nobel Laureates would actually grant it to him, even if he managed to negotiate a golden age that lasted for a thousand years. Who nominates Trump is kind of unimportant if he does not win it. Plus you know, her chances at the presidency were kind of spoilt by him in 2016 anyway, when it became clear how strong the Never Hillary demographic was, so she might not care so much about her constituency, especially since as Clinton's wife, she gets the presidential pension for life anyway.
She can safely retire from politics if she wants.
The only superior position Russia has is its population and Putin's willingness to get so much of it killed to capture territory, Ukraine has a smaller population but it might not even be parallel (anywhere near maybe) to the ratio of losses between the two sides, Ukraine is less willing to take losses in the process of IT losing any territory due to combat.
Also fun fact, international law doesn't recognize territory countries capture by force -- e.g. Golan Heights, Palestine (which should honestly be defined as the entirety of modern day Israel), and now the east of Ukraine.
Eastern Ukraine belongs to Ukraine, any of it that was taken by force BEFORE the full invasion in Feb 2022 also rightfully belong to Ukraine (and yes it was caused by Russia, Putin caused the war in the east of Ukraine in 2014 obviously).
That all being said, if a considerable majority of Ukrainians want to negotiate an end to the war by ceding some of its previous, rightful territory (not captured by force like Russia did which is not recognized under intl law, I will stress again), then they should do that, IF most or all of the other conditions they desire are met, including security guarantees.
It's a non-starter for Ukraine to "promise" to the Kremlin worms that they will never join NATO, etc in the process. It's also a non starter to give up even more territory than what is already taken by force, if anything one of the conditions should be that Russia gives up some of the UKRAINIAN territory it's taken BY FORCE and move back to the lines from 2014, or 2015, whatever.
Or if not, regardless, in general it's not necessarily a roadblock for Ukraine nor has it been for months, years, to cede territory to end the war. This is nothing new and they have always been willing to make huge concessions, which is what it would be for THEM, not Russia, who would WIN if actually anything like what I described was implemented, even if they had to give up some land which Putin probably will not do and Putin honestly, last anyone checked wants to murder Ukrainians and grab more land.
Putin has played Trump like a fiddle and probably has several pieces of damning blackmail hanging over his or some associates' heads. Maybe Trump sold some of the dirt in the extremely valuable secret documents he stole to Putin along with other foreign agents and leaders possibly. The FBI coddled Trump and waited for months while they messed around with those troves of classified documents that this criminal rapist Russian asset war criminal president stole.
Ridiculous, BS folks.
No really after Afghanistan, the USA govt moved many of its resources to Europe, so once this proxy war is done, a new one elsewhere will be flared up. Gotta keep the stocks of the Merchants of Death aka the Military Industrial Complex going up, that's why they bought the politicians after all, lmao
