I would imagine you only need the save. After all if you play through a physical copy, how can the switch know the difference between you still actually having 2 in your possession or not?
If you're rusty, be ready to get destroyed in turf war until you get used to the game again.
Salmon run is available 24/7?
And Nintendo adds quality of life???
♥♥♥♥ yeah, sign me up.
As someone who played both 1 and 2, it's crazy how Nintendo didn't add any qof at all to the second game.
Some things like the map announcements got worse and are actually slower than in the first game.
Did they also get rid of the map rotation?
I've been at 2 gamestops today and both didn't have a single copy of splatoon 3 left.

Btw I've just gotten home with Splatoon3 and luckily my local gamestop got new stocks of it :-)
I know what I'm doing this evening.
I've played 100 hours Splatoon 1. 200 hours Splatoon 2
Everything BUT at least 300 hours in Splatoon would be dissapointing for me.
