Which Mouse Pad Should I buy?
I got my Razer Deathadder yesterday, and currently am using my old solid rough textured mouse pad.
I'd like to switch to one of the soft mouse pads that are still relatively fast to move on. The two i've been looking at specifically are the SteelSeries Qck one, and the Razer Goliathus Speed mouse pads.
Out of those two, which would feel faster, be easier to clean, and which would be overall better for the Deathadder?
I'm limited by space, as I only have about 13 in. by 12 in. of space at the most, so any that are recommended I'd need to be that small at the most. Thanks in advance.

What's so good about mousepads? just use whatever surface you have.

Hmm, I don't know much about mousepads but I like the synthetic stuff

I would say hard plastic mouse pads would feel faster too because of the smooth surface allowing the (also plastic) mouse feet to slide around with less resistance.

Cloth would definitely be harder to clean and have more resistance.

4HD is about 9x12 inch, 9HD is bigger but I'd have to look up the exact dimensions.
So you are saying to keep my current hard mousepad? It does have some rough textures on it though, so i'm assuming that keeping it will cause me to have to replace the feet of my mouse more often.
I definitely like fast and smooth mouse pads the best, like hard mouse pads, but I heard that the Razer Goliathus speed is pretty fast and it is also soft, so it is better for your mouse. It sounded decent but I was wondering if the Steel Series is worse or better than that with its SteelSeries Qck?

I use an older WoW fragmat. It is great, but my mouse literally works on nearly any surface, which is a plus. The weird reflective surface of my mat does pick up a lot better on standard mice, however.

No, I wasn't buying into a marketing thing. That is what other people on random forums have told me and what I've read online, not from Razer themselves.
I've just read that Razer makes good pads that are fast and durable. If my current hard pad won't wear down my mouse's feet any sooner than a soft pad then I guess I'll just stick with the hard one for now then.
I'm already planning on replacing the feet of the mouse every year or two, but I just don't want to have to do it any more often, and was worried that my hard roughly texured mouse pad would wear my feet noticbly in less than a year.

Is it solid or hard?

With a good mouse, the pad rarely matters. They can help, but only a little.

I still say fragmat makes the best, but I am a fan. Take that with a grain of salt.

I got a Steelseries on Amazon for free. But of course I had to pay for it first. I just then said I contacted the seller to cancel the order before he shipped it and he replied after and Amazon let the order continue and I got a refund plus my mousepad. It's like 10 in x 13 in. Nice and smooth, except when you eat food and it gets on it and the mouse grips to it causing it to feel weird.

To be specific, and to post the cheap one: http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Call-Black-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B009OYUI3W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442632658&sr=8-1&keywords=black+ops+2+mousepad

That food part was part of the story you could/should have kept to yourself.

I don't recall ever dropping food on my mouse pad. Just my keyboard. Anyway, though, you say the Steelseries ones feel good? Are they durable and do they feel fast or slow?

I've seen that before, but thanks. That doesn't asnwer my questions though. I'm just curious what people like better, Steel Series or Razer mouse pads.

I dont really like cloth pads, it's the smell of artificial rubber and cloth that kills me, had to throw few of them away. I just use vinyl cowered office clipboard for years now, laser mouse glides and tracks well, easy to clean and doesnt smell.
If you want less ghetto version then check out Razer Vespula. ;-)
