Have you ever been blamed for something you didn't do?

I recently had a group of friends blame me for something one of their other friends did. It's oh well. But has anyone else had something like this happen? I would be interested in hearing you thought!

Yep. 80k in embezzling. I was coming in under budget on a lot of projects, but it was being reported as over budget.

Took a week to sort out. Turns out another department head was roll under budget funds into his projects.

He go fired. I got a formal apology, a small raise, and for some reason 2 50$ Applebee's gift cards.

I hate Applebee's. Also, I know they were left over Christmas gifts as I had several in my desk.

Yesss More than a couple of times. Well it was a life changing and a transformational experience, i dare say. Besides, the lessons that life delivered to me, were extremely precious. Now i will always cast the evil eye, upon psychologists who mention: "Pursuit syndrome". Or knaves who spout the word "conspiracy" too lightly. Well, i couldn't do anything, i was (and still am, to a certain extent) helpless like a naked baby. I like to collect information though and follow people. Those who accused me once on untrue matters, were suddenly accused for things they did in private and were very real. One person who merely made fun of me on a bad day that my mood was sh_t, suddenly lost his 10years old job, after me sending an email to his superior, who was his fackbuddy old friend and work colleague, losing (access to) her also.

Those who are ready to hiss, jump at you and bite, spew venom etc, should be extra careful. Nobody is untouchable. Nobody is completely clean or hides secrets beyond prying eyes' reach.
