was good at it for a spell but lost the feel for it after i left school and their school championships. Today i'd be lucky to win a match. while i'm aware of what i'm doing in front of me, i don't have the ability to think 6 moves ahead like i did back then as a teenager.

I used to be on a chess club when I was 8

I even tried participating on a tournament a school was organizing just to end up with the "thanks for participating" medal -.-

But well, not complaining ,was fun and everyone was so quiet...

Do ppl still play chess online?

Chess has gotten a resurgence I think thanks to twitch. Other youtubers have taken part in chess tournaments and some chess players playing videogames.

Me? I haven't seen much TV/movies about chess but it was mostly awful until Queens Gambit came around. I havent seen it yet but Im sure because Garry Kasparov was involved that it was good.

I came in second place in a local tournament for kids, when I was 7 years old. But I soon learned that in order to be any good, you have to study openings and play a LOT.

As I preferred reading novels, that was the end of that.
