Not to say I haven't tried to find some other faves. They didn't resonate as much.

Undecided about the new Divinity 1/2. Not played them enough, but they seem alright so far.

Castle of the Winds is probably my oldest favorite. I played this rogue-like before the the actual Rogue.
Ultima franchise, before EA got their rapacious tentacles into it.
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2.
Skyrim, but only with about 15-20 gigs of mods.
I keep meaning to get into Mana and Persona and maybe even Mass Effect.
One of the few games I've played that has truly shocked me. And I am quite honestly baffled that something with this degree of polish, content, and consistent quality was only moderately successful. It can easily compete with any other major indie giant in those categories.
I've been playing for almost 60 hours, and I've still got two more chapters of the main story and most of the side quests that I've yet to see. Plus there's also a feature where unlocking achievements awards you points that can then be spent on adding modifiers to a New Game+ file.
xenosaga 1 and 3
Cyberpunk 2077 is definitely one I've enjoyed. Then there's:
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness, Starbound, and Kenshi just to name a few.
Huh, this is a first. People have referred to the Pokemon video games as RPGs since the Blue and Red days.
and maybe skyrim.
