Gina Carano Fired From Disney and The Mandalorian

Gina Carano will no longer be in the Mandalorian. I will not share the details due to Steam rules, but look up the tweet that resulted in her termination.
This is just WRONG. It's not because the character is necessarily indispensable, but because of their reasons for taking her off. Disney has gone too far this time.

They went too far when they let go of Johnny Depp, for fear of public scrutiny after he was falsely accused of domestic violence by his ex-wife. They fired him when the allegations came to light, they wanted to support the "me too" movement. I love Disney, but that was absolutely wrong, especially since it turns out she was actually abusive to him. I hope they really are doing the right thing in defending him now. But as far as I know, cancelling a man over false abuse allegations is way worse than firing someone who doesn't fit their public image. If you're going to complain, at least find a valid reason.

Personally I watched the Mando Luke reveal on Star War Theory Channel and he was crying and other people were tearing up in the chat/comments. I felt nothing and this is from someone who cried when they blew up the fluffy wuffy Ewoks.

If you don't wanna ruin your company's image don't say ♥♥♥♥. Just fire them and move on. Don't try to make some moral b.s. statement. B/c if the person you fired was held accountable to their own words you are just as liable too. Even worse is you lose the support of millions of consumers who actually have a financial incentive.

You can always find another job acting or roles in movies or shows. You can't exactly start another company or branch if it dries up.

I was ahead of the curve with SJW Wars anyway. They pretty much put the nail in coffin with that hack show the sequel trilogy. The EA Battlefronts 2 fiasco put me off the newer gaming side. It even dropped for free on PS4 hardly touched it. Five mins of Luke in Mando to sucker me back in NFW. I just stick to pre-owned and/or third party OG Star Wars stuff anyway. From what I have seen the Disney/Lucas staff they want to keep seem just like people the CCP would approve of ideologically (if not racially approve of).

They need more gamers at Disney/Lucas Film. Think about it we role plays as so many different things? Sex, race, gender, age, species. Across ancient/future times, in worlds and universes with many different rules/faiths.

Gamers are the most open minded tolerant bunch of people for sure. Though I must add at the end of my comment"Your Mama", so...

Disney as a company hasn't been simply "entertainment" in decades. If that was the case, they wouldn't be so involved in charity, make-a-wish, etc. They wouldn't be political or leaning left in image. Their whole "purpose" (or at least what they like to put out) is to be more progressive and supportive of those who need it most. This includes young children and their families, but also the sick, disabled, minorities, etc. Recently they seem to want to give groups like that representation even more, and that's absolutely okay. They've been seemingly trying to cut down on the older, traditional stereotypes and expand on stories where the lessons are closer to home for modern society (family, mental health, friendship is important, etc.)

If you don't like it, that's fine, it's your opinion. Regardless though, it's not just an average film company.
