2. No, there are a few that have an MP mode, mainly the fighting game.
3. Not legally, you can download it from various places for free, which is what most people do.
4. It's JP only but there's English translation patches which can be installed.
5. Eh, this depends. I personally find it enjoyable, there's a fair bit of story.
6. Definitely. It's what sets it apart from other bullet hells (aside from the extreme difficulty) and is what got most people into it. The music really is fantastic. Septette for the Dead Princess is my personal favorite, and what got me into it.

7. It's fairly long as far as bullet hells go. The difficulty makes it much longer too.
8. Define cringey. Touhou's definitely the largest fandom for anything Japanese, as far as games go. There's innumerable art located across the web.
For 3 neither of you gave me solid answer as where to buy it, and I defind cringey in this case as bad storyline / dialogue (kinda like Life is Strange's dialogue).
Thanks for the other answers though!
People will say, no its a bullet hell game with good music. Yes, but the selling factor are the anime girls.
Bullet hells I like, but don't really care for the characters.
2. The fighting Spin off games are all Multiplayer, and Touhou 3 and 9 are also multiplayer.
3. You can purchase physical copies of the games from Jlist and Touhou 14 can be bought digitally at Playism
4. Its all japanese but all the games have english fanmade patchs
5. It can be confusing at times but otherwise the story is very good. If you enjoy the story theres also an offical manga and countless fan works.
6. Yes
7. Usally 6 main levels plus a extra stage, some of the games have more. In some games the stages actually change based on the character you choose so there is some replay value.
8. Not really, sometimes theres a bad joke which can be a little cringy but otherwise its fine, the same can be said about the fanbase
⑨. Overused Touhou meme
Relax, nothing controversial about the actual Touhou games. People behind the fan art and doujins however tend to let their imagination run wild.
Edit (Changed one character to a few, just remembered Yuugi)
