Consider that movies based on historical events themselves intreoduce an amount of creative license, and disparation from the source, the games based upon the movies are then based upon the movie as the source. UNLESS the games are created specificially from the original events as source directly.
One can see this evident in the game of Days Of Thunder which is based on the life of thwe movie Days Of Thunder which is loosely based on the life of Tim Richmond.
Tim Richmond's lifestory is utterly unconnected with the videogame and there is no direct means that the game can be considered based upon Tim's experiences.
The artistic disparity between creation and source, when taken one further step reduces any link to the origin of the source.
Likewise, the videogame based on the movie 'Scarface', released as "Scarface: The World Is Yours" is absolutely unconnected and wholly irrelevant to the events (mainly concerning Tony Camonte) for which the movie was based.
For example, and yes, I appreciate I'm using a novel in place of real event, but even so, the point remains unaffected: The Lord Of The Rings games that accompanied Peter Jackson's movie releases featured chreacters and events as portrayed in the movies, NOT as portrayed in the novel.
Whilst I can understand an almost spiritual connection due to the origins, there is no jsutification to saay that C is based on A just because it was based upon B which in turn was based upon A.
All life on Earth has a common ancestor, but the branches of the tree of life are that, branches, not a linear progression.
